Greta Thunberg, the climate activist who was chosen as the person of the year by Time Magazine last year, spoke at the Davos World Economic Summit in Switzerland.
Addressing the business world and political leaders attending the summit, Thunberg said that ‘Pretty much nothing has been done since the global emissions of CO2 has not reduced”.
Thunberg added that we are still at the very beginning of bringing lasting change.
‘”[I]f you see it from that aspect, what has concretely been done, if you see it from a bigger perspective, basically nothing … it will require much more than this, this is just the very beginning.”
Admonishing world leaders, Thunberg argued, ‘I don’t think I have seen one media outlet or person in power communicating this or what it means.’
‘I know you don’t want to report on this. I know you don’t want to talk about this. But I assure you I will continue to repeat these numbers until you do.’
