EU commission agreed on postponing Brexit

A new date has not yet been set for Brexit.

The European Commission announced that the EU member states have agreed in principle on the proposal to postpone Brexit to a later date. A clear date has not yet been set for Brexit. An offer for a new date for Brexit will be submitted next week.

Boris Johnson said the UK’s decision on the delay was in their own elections, and Britain could leave on 31 October.

In the UK, consisting of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the Brexit referendum held in 2016 resulted in the decision to leave the EU.

Brexit was postponed to 31 October after the rejection of the Brexit agreement reached by former Prime Minister Theresa May 3 times in parliament.
