Lorraine Kelly has revealed the reason for her apparent snub of former TV colleague Esther McVey before going on a rant about how Brexit has affected the country.
She was explaining her obvious animosity towards the Tory MP during Monday’s live link-up with Good Morning Britain
Presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid had just interviewed the Tory leadership contender – who used to work with Lorraine on GMTV.
When Susanna asked whether she remembered Esther, Lorraine replied with a blunt “Yep. Yes I do”.
Piers Morgan then asked whether they got on, to which Kelly replied that she “didn’t remember” because it was “such a long time ago”.
This snub led to viewers wondering what the story was behind it.

She also addressed McVey’s comments which suggested that there was some form of ‘dressing room feud’ between them both.
During her teaser link with GMB, she said: “I’m baffled. There is no battle. I am baffled by that though because I had my own show since 1992, and I don’t think she joined until five years later.

She then uncharacteristically went on a rant about Brexit and the negative effect it has had on the country.
“I’m sick to death of the whole toxic political atmosphere,” she said. “I strongly disagree with her on LGBT+ rights. I just thought to myself, I’ve just had enough of this.

“For two and a half years we have been going round in circles and not sorting Brexit out, and now we have got a state in Britain where people are at each other’s throats and it’s got to stop.”
To finish, Lorraine then expressed her disappointed that Ruth Davidson was not standing in the Tory leadership contest, adding that she is “one of the few human beings who is actually in politics right now.”
Viewers took to twitter to praise Lorraine for airing her views.

One said: “Proud of @reallorraine for explaining her ‘feud’ with @EstherMcVey1, how she barely remembers this potential PM on gmtv all those years ago and how she is not happy at all with her views on her #lgbt rights. Lorraine, perhaps you should be PM!!! Please.”
Another said: “So that apparent beef between Lorraine Kelly and Esther McVey, Lorraine just told @GMB: “I’m baffled. There is no battle. I don’t remember. It was such a long time ago.” But, she adds: “I strongly disagree with her on LGBTQ rights. I just thought I’ve just had enough’.”
