Once exclusive to the Sony consoles only, the Ryu ga gotoku series, known as the Yakuza series in the West, are no longer limited to the Playstation 3 and 4, as recent Yakuza games have started to appear on PC. Yakuza Kiwami, Yakuza 0 and most recently Yakuza Kiwami 2 have all been ported to PC with unexpected success. The series have increased its fanbase as a result, as millions of PC gamers have also tried the crime series as well.
However, while the recent remasters and prequel have come out on the PC, the previous numbered installments, such as Yakuza 3, 4, 5 and 6, have yet to be made available to PC users.
It is speculated that the PC ports follow a timeline, unlike the release of the Playstation versions, which saw Yakuza 6 released before Yakuza Kiwami 2.
All in all, the unimaginable has already happened, and PC gamers can have a taste of Yakuza now without needing an emulator or a console, and if other titles from the series are released for the PC, that would only be the icing on the cake, while an Xbox release for the games is still not considered by SEGA.
