New attack in Srilanka on Muslim shops

After the bloody attacks on churches in Srilanka, which saw 253 people die, it has been reported by local police that some shops were stoned and cars set to fire.  The attacks were claimed by ISIS.

The attacks took place in the city of Negombo, near the Catholic church which that was attacked in Easter.

While a jewelry shop belonging to a local Muslim was looted by a group of 400 people, a riksha and a motorbike were set to fire in the village of Porutota.

Srilankan police reported that while no one died in the attacks, there were a number of injured.

Cardinal Malcolm Ranjinth gave a message of peace as he visited the region with Muslim leaders.

This was the first attacks that happened after the Easter attacks in the country.
