Sweden-based digital music platform Spotify announced its number of subscribers. The platform, which has a total of 200 million users, including 96 million paid subscribers, reached its operating profit for the first time in its decade-long history.
According to the financial results announced by the Swedish-based music application Spotify, which was launched in 2008, in the last quarter of 2018, the company increased its monthly number of active users to 207 million with an increase of 47 million in the last year.
Among these members, 96 million of them are Spotify Premium subscribers who pay a monthly fee. The number of premium subscribers increased by 25 million over the past year.
As of the end of 2018, revenues of the company operating in 78 countries worldwide reached 1.5 billion euros in the last quarter of 2018, with an annual increase of 30 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Spotify exceeded its total revenues in 2018, amounting to € 5.2 billion.
