Flood in Indonesia: 26 dead

South Sulawesi Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) in Indonesia reported that the number of deaths in floods and landslides caused by heavy rains increased to 26 in Gowa, Jeneponto and Maros regions.

BPBD officials indicated that 24 people were lost in the region, and 3.321 people affected by the floods and landslides were evacuated to a safe zone.

In the regions where floods and landslides cause devastation, efforts to find missing people and to deliver medical help to the victims continue.

In Indonesia, as a result of its tropical climate, floods and landslides often occur due to excessive rainfall.
