Baidu creates AI chip for self-driving cars

Baidu has created an artificial intelligence chip to run intensive computing for  cars, and the company is launching self driving cars in Japan.
The company is planning to ship the first minibuses to Japan by the first quarter of 2019. , Baidu stated at its annual developers’ conference. The Chinese company has already finished production of 100 vehicles at its plant in southern China, according to a statement.
The twin announcements came after Lu Qi, the ex president of the group, left the company. Lu Qi’s departure jeopardised the company’s progress and caused it to lose 10th of its market value.
