The first graphic novel has been nominated for Booker Prize

The first graphic novel to be nominated for the Booker Prize is Sabrina by Nick Drnaso from the US. Sabrina, the author’s second graphic novel. He is 29, and has already made a name by being the first graphic novel writer whose book was nominated for the Booker Prize.

The judges of the prize also commented on the first graphic novel nomination, stating that “given the changing shape of fiction, it was only a matter of time before a graphic novel was included” .

The Booker Prize now allows international authors’ books to be nominated, if the book is written in English and published in the UK. The final winner of the prize will be announced in October 2018.

The Long List of writers this year include authors from the UK (Anna Burns), Canada (Esi Edugyan) and Ireland (Sally Rooney).  The full list of authors are as below:
