Iran military chief warns Trump, calls Iran ‘a nation of martyrdom’

The American President Donald Trump was told by the military chief of Iran, Qassem Soleimani, that the Iranian people are ‘lovers of death’ and they would win any war. Donald Trump had earlier posted a tweet in all caps, in response to Iranian President Rouhani’s words, ‘do not play with the lion’ tail:

‘ NEVER, EVER THREATEN THE UNITED STATES AGAIN OR YOU WILL SUFFER CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED BEFORE.

“WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH. BE CAUTIOUS!’

Soleimani was quoted on Iran’s state TV channel IRIB saying: The Red Sea which was secure is no longer secure with the American presence … Trump should know that we are nation of martyrdom and that we await him.’

He continued, saying, “You know that this war will destroy all that you possess. You will start this war but we will be the ones to impose its end. Therefore you have to be careful about insulting the Iranian people and the president of our Republic. You know our power in the region and our capabilities in asymmetric war. We will act and we will work.”

In the meantime, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Twitter, in response to Trump:

COLOUR US UNIMPRESSED.”

He added: “The world heard even harsher bluster a few months ago. And Iranians have heard them – albeit more civilized ones – for 40 yrs.

“We’ve been around for millennia & seen fall of empires, incl our own, which lasted more than the life of some countries.

“BE CAUTIOUS!”
